Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress from America. Since the mid 80s, Angela Evelyn has worked in film and TV. Her work has been recognized with many awards, including sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was raised in New York New York and fostered by an aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett as well as her younger sister aged five, old, made the move away from the city of their birth to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. When she was in high school Bassett saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she would like to be an actor. In 1980, Bassett completed her studies at Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She was also awarded a degree by The Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale, and in 1997 they were married. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a master's degree of African American studies in 1980.
